I guess the biggest consideration is adding relevant material – information that people really care about or at the very least, find entertaining.

Our industry is not known for its transparency and we are not always great at information sharing until production is wrapped, edited, and on its way to winning awards.

It’s tough out there right now with plenty of competition especially in Charlotte where there are 200 of everything. A colleague of mine said recently, “If someone around here opens a pet grooming salon, everyone says, ‘great idea, I think I’ll open one too,’ and five others immediately pop up. That’s Charlotte.

So we all have a fist-hold on our business models and sales strategies that will see us through this latest recession. And in our case, much of the work we do often contains confidential information. So while this form of communication may be a challenge on some fronts, it is a great way to initiate dialogue between both clients and crew. I don’t believe there are that many sites out there that encourage dialogue between clients and creatives. So let’s change that.
